is never complete without seeing some lehengas worn at this event. We see all
sorts of lehenga styles from flared lehengas to a-line lehengas to double
layered and many more styles. Here are some of the most
stylish types of lehenga styles which work for your different
occasions to give you a different look.
Circular Lehenga or Flared Lehenga Style
These kinds of flared
lehengas are the most sought styles for women of young age. The love to wear
full circular lehengas which have no panels and kalis and are in umbrella
flare. The fabrics for these are in cotton, cotton silk, georgette, satin or
flowy fabrics. The pleated lehenga
or gathered waistline lehenga is also a Flared Lehenga.
Mermaid Lehenga or Fishtail Lehenga Style
The pattern is cut
into a fishtail look which is fitted at the waist and hipline, and flared from
above the knees or at knee level into wide flare. Illusion of wearing a mermaid
style or known as a Mermaid Style
lehenga. Where these lehengas to weddings and reception for a iconic look.
Pair a peplum or corset with a Mermaid lehenga, it will the perfect balanced
look.
Panelled Lehenga Style
A Flared Lehenga can also come in pleats
or panels known as lehenga kali. These are those which have more work detail on
theme and give a fitted waist look and wide bottom hemline flare. These can be
in different styles of vertical parallel lines which can be a basic 3 kali or
12 and more kalis to add more of a flared look from your bottom hem.
A-Line Lehenga Style
The most common one
worn for festivals or parties is a A-line lehenga. Not so wide and flared from
hemline, the A-line lehenga looks perfect in panels or without kalis with just
s slight a-line shape. For heavy brides or bridesmaids, adding balanced flared
with A-line lehenga is your very good choice. Style A-line lehenga with kameez or straight cut kurtas for a different
look.
Sharara Cut Lehenga Style
A lehenga which is
worn as a sharara suit or with a kameez or long anarkali for a sharara look.
These lehengas can be flared in bias cut or can have panels and kalis to add
flare. The lehenga can also have lower skirt layers in 10-12 inch of gazed
fabric or ruffle to add extra bulge to the bottom look which looks like a
sharara bottom. You can wear these styles for weddings or sangeet occasions for
flared lehengas in designer style.
Straight Cut Lehenga Style
This is a very
uncommon style in lehenga, a lehenga
that has less flare or no flare like a straight cut palazzo. The fabric may
be in cotton or cotton silk just to pair under kurta or kameez for a different
look. The lehenga has slight flare which gives a look of a-line silhouette but
has no added panels or kalis.
Lehenga With Jacket Style
A lehenga choli or a
lehenga that’s paired with a Jacket is what this style is all about. Variations
of a Long sherwani style jacket or a long side slit kameez is what trends this
days. Pairing a short jacket with your blouse or short tunic and lehenga is
also a new trending look in lehenga with a jacket look. A heavy work lehenga
paired with a long net jacket in heavy embroidery is also a favourite style for
brides to be. Or try the open jacket style in long or mid length pared over
flared lehenga which may be in cotton, silk or net as well.
Half Saree Lehenga Style
Lehenga choli that’s
got a stitched dupatta like a saree draping style is known as a half saree lehenga or a lehenga saree style design. It’s very
easy to wear, where you will have one corner of dupatta attached to lehenga
waist and the other is to be wrapped around from front to the left shoulder
like a saree. This is a common style found at South Indian Weddings known as
lehenga saree. The colors of the premium lehenga, dupatta and choli are in
contrast to each other creating a colorful harmonising outfit.

the most common styles of lehengas which in terms of pattern cutting. You can
wear the styles you like for different looks. Just know how to match the right
blouse for your occasion as casual day or festival or wedding occasion.
